Interior:

The interior will certainly impress as the words light, spacious and very comfortable just fall short. The semi-deck saloon exudes supreme comfort with flowing space, welcoming ambiance, panoramic windows and a quality wood interior.
There are many overhead hatches and portlights. The Impression models actually have a ceiling below the deck which provides excellent thermal properties needed for the Australian climate.
The 434 has a true L-shaped sea-going galley and a forward facing dedicated navigation station, traditional and essential for a cruising boat. Generous sized bathrooms with separate shower cubicle. Customise to suit with a selection of four superb interior layouts.

Hull, Keel, Rudder:

The hull is constructed using special vacuum infusing which has a 50% greater fibre to resin mix resulting in a boat hull which is at least 50% stronger than other build methods.
The Impression 434 has a proper big boat bilge which adds enourmous strengths to the hull in the keel area and reduces the mechanical stresses on the keel fixing bolts.
You will find the mast and rigging on the Impression much heavier and more robust then her competitors.
The Impression range has a very unique rudder fixing arrangement whereby the rudder bearing housing is an integral massive webbed area. This integral part of the actual hull supports the rudder bearing without being in contact with the deck above, therefore reducing stress.
Elan use only stainless steel stocks in their rudders for greater strength and realibility, in comparison to boats fitted with composite or aluminium stocks.
The Impression models are of superior quality build, not just in the visual areas but carried right throughout the boat. No plastic substitutes are used to lessen production costs and make the boats lighter. Elan only uses solid wood.

Designer: Multi award winning designer Rob Humphreys is internationally renowned for his track record of designing racing boats for America's Cup, Whitbread Round the World Race and for leading sailors such as Ellen Macarthur. This is combined with the many custom premier cruising yachts and prestigious marques such as Oyster Marine and Northshore (Southerly) Yachts (UK) as well as Elan Marine.
The Humphreys' masterfull hallmark ensures to keep the traditional spirit of true sailing alive and what a true sailing boat should be. The Elan Impression models are excellent sailing boats and are more than competitive on the water. Humphreys' design ensures weight tolerable hulls that are performance oriented.
Elan Polar graphs (for hull speeds) and AVS stability test results are readily available. These are important documents that all prospective buyers should request with view of understanding the performance and stability of the boat.
